How to find the missing digits in the blank spaces?

Example:

Find the Missing Digits | Missing Digits in Addition and Subtraction

Add the ONES: 5 + 9 = 14 

Regroup as 1 Ten and 4 Ones

Add the TENS: 2 + 1 carry over = 3


Write 2 in the box to make 3 + 2 = 5 

Add the HUNDREDS: 4 + 1 = 5

Add the THOUSANDS: 6 + 2 = 8

Write 2 in the box. 0

          Steps:

I: Add ones. 9 + 4 + 4 = 17. Write 7 under ones, carry 1 to tens.

II: Add tens leaving the . 1 + 3 + 1 = 5. If 5 + 6 = 11, then we get 1 in tens place. Write 6 in the . Carry 1 to hundreds.

III: Add the hundreds including the carried 1. 1 + 5 + 2 + 6 = 14. We get 4 in the hundreds place. Carry 1 to thousands.

IV: Add thousands leaving the . 1 + 3 + 8 = 12. 12 + 1 = 13. Write 1 in the .

          Steps:

I: Add ones leaving the . 4 + 6 = 10. 10 + 5 = 15, then we get 5 in the ones place. Write 5 in the . Carry 1 to tens place.

II: Add tens. 1 + 3 + 4 + 9 = 17. Write 7 in the tens place, carry 1 to hundreds place.

III: Add the hundreds leaving the . 1 + 5 +3 = 9. 9 + 2 = 11, then we get 1 in the hundreds place. Write 2 in the . Carry 1 to thousands place.

IV: Add thousands leaving the . 1 + 6 + 1 = 8; 8 + 1 = 9. Write 1 in the .
